Golf named FCSAA DII Men's Basketball Player of the Year
Marvin Golf, a sophomore guard from Lake Worth, Fla., has been named the FCSAA DII Men's Basketball Player of the Year. Golf has led the Panthers to a 29-1 record and the NJCAA's No. 1 ranking since December 15. Palm Beach State will enter the postseason on a 17-game winning streak, needing only two wins to claim its first FCSAA Championship in 48 years.
Golf, with 15 double-doubles, is the only player in the FCSAA who is averaging a double-double - he is fourth in scoring at 13.4 points per game and is the FCSAA's leading rebounder at 10.9 rebounds per game. He is also third in assists (2.8 apg) and tied for fifth in steals (1.5 spg).
Shooting-wise, he is fourth in field goal percentage (.516) and leads the FCSAA with an .822 free throw percentage.
He received FCSAA Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors 8 times this season.
