Baseball defeats Eastern Florida by a score of 10-6 after scoring 4 runs in the 9th inning. This win moves their overall record to 15-9 and their conference record to 4-3.
Facing top pitching prospect Carter Stewart, the game remained scoreless through 3 innings.
The team broke things open scoring 5 runs in the top of the 4th. Andrew Martinez recorded the first hit of the inning, a triple. He would later score on a wild pitch to take the lead 1-0. After a Gabriel Martinez walk to put runners at 1st and 2nd, Nick Tiano would single home Joe Smith to take a 2-0 lead. Jisjar Clotida would then drive home Martinez with a single. Noah Orlando singled home Tiano and Clotida to take 5-0 lead. All of the damage occured with 2 outs.
Eastern Florida would come roaring back in the bottom half of the inning. With the bases loaded, an error by Reid Zitzelberg allowed all runners to score, which cut the lead to 6-3. An RBI groundout by the next batter, Drew, would be the end of the scoring in the inning -- Palm Beach would still lead 6-4.
Eastern Florida would tie the score in the 6th and no further scoring would occur until the 9th. The first 3 batters of the inning would reach base for Palm Beach. Again, the two out hitting would come through. Gabriel Marinez, Nick Tiano, and Jisjar Clotida would all single home runners to increase the lead to 10-6.
Typically a reliever, Roger Ceballos received his first start for Palm Beach. He pitched 4 quality innings, allowing 2 runs (0 earned), whilst striking out 2.
