Nick Cichielo became the Sports Information Coordinator in November 2018, the first "SIC" in school history.
Previously, Nick was a intern/graduate assistant with the State College of Florida [SCF] athletics department where he was responsible for sport information functions, compliance, and determining athlete eligibility. While at SCF, Nick overhauled the Manatees' sports information processes and introduced many new features to Manatees athletics, including: video web-streaming of live home games, live statistics, and the introduction of graphic design elements to social media channels. Nick grew the Manatees' Twitter following from 1,100 to over 1,700 followers in the span of one year. Nick's coverage of CJ Alexander through various social media channels became one of the most viewed and most engaged posts in the history of SCF Athletics.
Nick oversaw the marketing and promotion of numerous award winners while at SCF, including: Conference Player of the Year, Conference Hitter of the Year, Conference Pitcher of the Year, 1 Major League Baseball Draft Pick, 1 NJCAA All-American, a Suncoast Conference Championship, and several NJCAA/FCSAA Player of the Week honors.
He was responsible for the re-design of scfmanatees.com and created the first instagram page for athletics. Additionally, traffic to scfmanatees.com was increased by nearly 10,000 hits per day over the previous season under Nick's supervision.
Previously, Nick worked in professional baseball for 5 years in various capacities, including video and scouting. During his baseball career, Nick worked for the Texas Rangers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Atlanta Braves, and Toronto Blue Jays. He has helped over 15 players make it to the "Big Leagues", including: Ronald Acuna Jr, Mike Soroka, Max Fried, Jameson Taillon, & Gerrit Cole, among others.
Nick earned his Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management from Lindenwood University in 2012 and recently completed his Master's in Collegiate Athletic Administration.
